Kubah National Park & Matang Wildlife Center

Our first port of call is Matang Wildlife Centre, situated at the western corner of Kubah National Park and consists of 179 hectares of lowland forest. The center is responsible for rescuing and helping a wide variety of animals back into the wild. Their enclosures, created to simulate their natural environment have the rainforests of Kubah as their backdrop. The animals undergoing rehabilitation include Orangutans, Sun Bears, Bear Cats, Civet Cats, Sambar Deer, Porcupines, Crocodiles and more. A large aviary houses a variety of Hornbills, as well as Brahminy kites and Sea Eagles

Next, hike with your guide along the nature trails of Kubah National Park passing through some of the most impressive rainforest scenery in Sarawak. Along the way, you will pass an array of fascinating plants. Some of the species on the trail might include some of Borneo’s rarest plants, along with Orchids, Pitcher plants and colourful birds along the way. Arrival at the impressive clear, freshwater waterfall will signify lunchtime, where we will take our lunch before making our way back to the city.
