All about the Bamboo Rafting & Traditional Picnic Lunch.

See the Borneo Rainforest from a fresh perspective, away from the heavily trodden trails. Plunge into the refreshing waters and take in some rainforest culinary tips as your guides prepare your sumptuous lunch right atop your raft on the riverbank’s pebble beach.  Expect rice, meats and vegetables cooked in bamboo as well as a traditional barbecue. Continue downriver to the take-out point where you can freshen up and change into dry clothes in a purpose-built bamboo longhouse before heading back into Kuching city. A wonderful way to spend a day.

  1. Bamboo Rafting Rivers of the Rainforest

Transfer from the Singgahsana lodge at 8:30 am and proceed to the rivers of the rainforest. Along with a bit of local help, this full day tour will give you a first-hand experience at building your very own bamboo raft and traversing the clear rivers that run through the rainforest. Your guides will show you how the locals use the rivers to their advantage. The jungle offers up many different types of vegetables and plants that we can eat and you can help the guide by foraging for these along the way.

Around mid-day, your guides will cook lunch for you using the plants and vegetables you will have collected along the river, along with other food to add to your lunch.  Your lunch is cooked, “local Style” in bamboo. This tour offers a great insight and raw experience of how some of the tribes still live whithin the shelter of the rainforest.
