Itinerary:

Day 01 KOTA KINABALU – MT. KINABALU (L, D) Early morning (0630hrs), depart for Mt. Kinabalu Park. The journey will take approximately 2 hrs. passing by villages, paddy fields along the Crocker Range. A brief stop at Nabalu Market for an opportunity to buy local handicrafts and local fruits. Upon arrival at Mt. Kinabalu Park at approximately 0800hrs., you will check-in and register at Mt. Kinabalu Park’s headquarters. After this your adventure begins as you proceed to the Power Station/Timpohon Gate by coach for the start of your 2-day climb up Mt. Kinabalu. The trekking will take about 5-8 hours, depending on individual fitness level to the 11,000 ft., Laban Rata area. After checking into your assigned accommodation, you spend the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying the spectacular mountain landscape. Dinner at Laban Rata Restaurant and overnight at assigned Mountain Hut.

Day 02 MT. KINABALU SUMMIT – LOW’S PEAK – KOTA KINABALU (B, High-Tea)

Very early start at 0200hrs for your ascend by torchlight towards Low’s Peak summit. This summit climb takes approximately three hours and weather permitting; you will be well rewarded with a beautiful sunrise at approximately 6 am. Descend back to Laban Rata Restaurant for a well-earned breakfast after which you check out and trek back down to the Timpohon Gate where you will be transferred to Mt. Kinabalu Park Headquarters to collect your Certificate of Achievement. Hi-Tea will be served at the Restaurant in Kinabalu Park after which you depart back to Kota Kinabalu city.

Itinerary

Day 01

KOTA KINABALU – MT. KINABALU PARK  (D) Early morning, depart for Mt. Kinabalu Park. The journey will take approximately 2 hrs. passing by villages, paddy fields along the Crocker Range. A brief stop at Nabalu Market for an opportunity to buy local handicrafts and local fruits. Upon arrival at Mt. Kinabalu Park, you will check-in at the Park’s office and settle into your accommodation. Free time at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Mt. Kinabalu Park.

 

Day 02

MOUNT KINABALU (B, L, D)    
After breakfast, gather at Mesilau Park Office with mountain guide and start trekking up Mt. Kinabalu. The trekking will take about 5-8 hours, depending on individual fitness level. Upon arriving at the Laban Rata area (11,000 ft.), check into your assigned overnight accommodation, relax and enjoy the spectacular mountain landscape. Dinner and overnight at Laban Rata.

 

Day 03
KINABALU SUMMIT – KOTA KINABALU  (B,L)   
Wake up very early at 2 am and commence your ascent by torchlight towards the summit. This summit climb takes approximately three hours and weather permitting; you will be well rewarded with a beautiful sunrise at approximately 6 am. After 30 minutes at the summit, you commence your trek back down to the Timpohon Gate. From here, you will be transferred back to the Mt. Kinabalu Park headquarters to collect your Certificate of Achievement. Lunch will be served at the Restaurant at Mt. Kinabalu Park after which you will depart back to Kota Kinabalu city.

LABAN RATA

The two-day journey up Mt. Kinabalu displays the incredible mountain backdrop of teeth and fangs, gully, precipice, cliff, plateau, gorge, peak, projectile and points! Located at 3,272 metres above sea level, Laban Rata offers climbers warm lodgings and hot meals before and after climbing to the peak of Mount Kinabalu.

The compound also consists of several smaller accommodation units. Apart from Laban Rata Rest House, which is the only heated unit, non-heated unit consists of Gunting Lagadan Hut, Panar Laban Hut and Waras Hut.
